The beach is my absolute favorite place. I love the smell of the ocean, the sound of the birds, the kids playing, and the waves crashing. A friend of mine is planning a trip to Mexico. I was there when she was listening to someone tell her all the great things she will see. Really blue water, sand that doesn't burn your feet, giant lizards, nude bathers. Wait, nude, did you say nude? Her first thought was, How am I going to explain this one to my kids? What will she do when her kids are busy making their sand castle, look up, and catch a wide-eyed view of THAT? I realize there are all different cultures in our world, so if you are stepping into another culture you have to accept it. But, explaining that to kids, not too sure about that. I would stay at the pool! Rather not have to go there. How do you think your kids would react to seeing a nude bather walking the beach? Are you okay with this? Would you stay at the beach?

There is no way with my kid, age 4. She wouldn't be able to stop talking about it and I would be uncomfortable. She saw a man with a bizarre nose and just couldn't keep it to herself at the mall, I can't imagine if it was an anatomy lesson!
Oh god. That sounds way too awkward to think about. Mind you, my little one doesn't talk...yet
no way my 4 year old would have far too many questions, as would I :)
Considering I just got back from a Child Psych appt. to see if my 7 year old daughter's obsession with playing Dr. and privates is 'normal', I'm gonna say "no".

Interesting idea. My kids are still young (21 months and 6 months) so I probably wouldn't worry as much (I'd be more worried about my husband and I!), but when they are older I'd say no.
I think I would want to teach my kids what is generally socially appropriate in terms of how much we cover our bodies. Any exceptions to this, they can learn later!

Well if you know about the nude beach, never bring kids there! If you didn't know about the nude beach, and all of a sudden, this couple walks by hand and hand, by your childrens sand castle. Depending on the age of the child. I think little ones up to school age, would laugh. After that, stare. After that, stop building sand castles and walk too! Never bring kids to a nude beach. Visit another country!
