Confessions of a Facebook snot

Do you really care if someone is heading out to walk their dog or about to jump in the shower?  I do like Facebook, really, but some of the things people post as their status really amazes me.  I am waiting for someone to post about their last bathroom event next!  Another thing that I find amusing is when a husband and wife communicate via Facebook.  Really?  Are you not in the same house?

And is it not a popularity contest?  "I have more friends than her, ha!"  Come on, do I really need to be 'friends' with someone I only met once?  And how about that friend that never spoke to you in high school but now all of the sudden wants to be your friend.

Yes, I 'Facebook' but I am a picky Facebooker, or maybe I am a Facebook snot.  I don't 'friend' everyone and have no problem clicking Ignore.  I even 'de-friended' someone before, do I dare say that!

Truthfully, I like that it has brought me back in touch with people that I lost connections with and occasionally find some of the crazy stuff amusing.  Do you Facebook?

I've blogged about my disdain for facebook before. I check it pretty often though, I'm one of those facebook stalkers. The most recent awful experience I had was just last week. This guy that was a year ahead of me in high school requested to be my friend. I accept all requests - I figure they could be readers for my blog and I have no idea why I strive to get more blog readers, but I do.
Anyhow, I become friends with this person who I've never spoken to, but we did go to the same high school and apparently recognize each other's names.
The next time I get on facebook the chat window pops up. It's the new "friend". "What's up?" it says. REALLY, what's up? What's up is I don't know you from a hole in the wall and the general assumption is that facebook friends look at each other's pictures but never actually speak. I'm not looking to re-connect or in this case, connect in the first place.
I hit that red "X" to close my browser in a hurry.
I don't really care for facebook.

Confession, I don't facebook. I've been looking at it from lots of angles and still am not convinced I really have a need for it. So no :)

I don't facebook myself, but I love to snoop over my kids shoulders while they do. Last night while they were on it, they were sitting in the same room, with their backs to each other, 4 feet apart on two different computers instant messaging each other.

Visting from SITS :) I admit, I'm a Facebook snob too. I don't' add people unless I know them personally. I do admit that I have added people from high school just because I was curious. My hubby will invite every person he has ever met if he finds them. It makes me crazy!

However, I am pretty much a Facebook addict.

I facebook. Sadly, Me and my husband are one of those couples. He thinks it's funny to comment on my status updates while in the next room so we end up going back and forth. We are annoying. There, I said it.

I tried it last year and was blown away with all of it. I didn't like the "popularity" thing or needing to know what every single person was thinking every minute of the day.

I did set up a page for my blog, by my personal stuff is spearate and I haven't really used it much.

I am a self-diagnosed "Facebook Addict". It's a love/hate relationship. One day I love it, the next day I swear it off. I need FB therapy ;)

I really don't mind the mindless facebook status updates, or the husband and wife posting to each other. I do however,HATE farmville! Ugh! I had to block that app because all I would see on my page were wayward sheep and posts begging for horseshoes! LOL

I'm sorta over facebook. I still quickly check my homepage every day, but I rarely even post status updates. At first it was sorta fun, but gradually as more and more acquaintaces and distant family friended me, it became more generic and less of a fun place to converse with friends. Also, I got sick of people IMing me when I logged on. If I want to talk, I'll call you! Don't IM me! I just want to browse facebook in peace. Now I always select the "chat offline" feature so I don't get accosted by any "friends."
