A parent's living nightmare

My heart was breaking this morning.  As I sat and drank my morning coffee I watched a group of parents pleading for help in finding their kids missing since last week's earthquake in Haiti.  One father could not hold back his tears and broke down exclaiming, "This is a living nightmare".

I cannot even begin to imagine what they are going through.  These are real parents with real children.  I have nightmares about my kids missing.  They are so real and extremely terrifying.  But, I get to wake up.

These poor parents, these poor real parents, they are missing their kids.  Their child.  Their child they held when he scraped his first knee.  The child who gleamed with happiness at riding her first bike.  That child who once called them Mommy.  That child who they rocked to sleep at night.  That child who wore the pink sparkly dress in the dance recital.  That child they were so proud of.  That is the child they may  never see again.

My heart breaks for their real living nightmare.  These parents may not get to wake up.

It is almost too awful to really fully wrap my mind around this. Many many prayers to Haiti and the people who have been touched by this tragedy.

I can't imagine the heartbreak that these families are going through. You can't help but be touched by what the people of Haiti are going through.

My thoughts & prayers go out to everyone in Haiti. I can't even begin to imagine going through a natural disaster of that extent and to not be able to find my children. My mind can't even go there! It's truly heartbreaking!
