I will be the first to say I love the show The Biggest Loser. This show entertains me to no end. However, I will also be the first to say you couldn't pay me enough to go on a show like that. Or for that matter, no reality show in general. I guess if I could sing really good I may consider American Idol, but in no way or form would you find me on national television trying to lose 200 pounds or looking for a man to marry. How do these people go back to 'normal' life after? Reality shows have really taken over prime time these days. On any given night you are sure to find some sort of real life show. What happened to the family comedy? Would you be in a reality show?

I wouldnt want to stand there in a sports bra with my belly hanging out more then anything! :(
If I COULD sew, I'd love to be on Project Runway though... LOVE that show!!!
Are you kidding? I don't even like wearing a swimming costume at the beach! There is no way I would let the whole world observe my struggles with weight-loss. I guess it would be pretty good motivation not to fall back into old habits though - everyone would know who you are.
I learned long ago that I don't look good on TV. I was once interviewed by the local news and then saw a clip where I said, "I started to get mad" in this really annoying, chippy voice. It was played at every commercial break on a whole Saturday morning. My husband still quotes that to me mockingly.
I would never recover from a stint on reality TV. Too much time for me to sound dumb.
If I was 784733 pounds smaller, I'd LOVE to be on So You Think You Can Dance. :) I love that show. I like Project Runway, but too much drama. I'd never survive. :)
Thanks so much for the visit. :)
I'm with RebeccaJo... how on earth do those girls/guys survive that kind of exposure? Those bras & pants they have to wear at weigh-in are hideous. So NO. I could never do that to myself. I am way too shy/ashamed of my rolls.
I particularly HATE those Bachelor type shows. I mean, those girls go on like they're really in love with the guy, when they barely know him and are shamelessly having to compete for his attention. Again, way too demeaning for me. Maybe my self esteem is too low - or maybe it is too high??? I could never look for a man that way (not that i need one, I've got mine, but you know, hypothetically)
:)
This is a GREAT question. I think if I were in the position to lose a great deal of weight, and had the chance to go on the show, I would; I have a personality that is prone to "extremes", so it would probably be right up my alley.
However, I completely echo your sentiments on what happened to the family comedy. Remember TGIF on ABC? Full House, Family Matters... now that's only on Nick At Night!

Confessions From A Working Mom
I am ridiculously happily married... HOWEVER, and even though I have a somewhat dominating personality... my hubby says I'd get "eaten alive" on the Bachelor. I am going to have to disagree. The first few seasons, I agreed. But, now seeing how "I'd work it" (with the viewing experience I have", I think I could annihilate these girls. In fact. as I type this... this may actually just be my next blog post for our he said/she said! I don't watch Biggest Loser... but from what I know... i would NOT be on that show. Love your question! Do you mind if I incorporate it in a blog post that I compose? Thanks!
When I was younger I probably would have went on a reality show...then regret it years later! LOL
Stopping by from SITS...and wanted to comment on this post:
I probably would not be the type to be on the Biggest Loser. But, we're good friends with Sean Algaier from season 8, and I know he would do it again in a heartbeat. Exposing yourself and all your flaws on national television is nothing compared to changing you life, and possibly saving your life. Not only that, but it has opened so many doors for him to be able to speak and motivate so many other people (myself included).
But, Biggest Loser is rare among reality TV. I would NEVER be on a personality based show, they exploit you like crazy...and probably make you crazy!
There are tons of reality shows that I would never be on, but I'd LOVE to be on Biggest Loser. I'd be on "Dance Your Ass Off" too, have you seen that one?
